Ports and Changes

I have been pretty busy the last couple of weeks since summer season has started and we have more and more kids/teens each cruise. The ports are still the same since we started the 7 day cruises. We have a Western Mediterranean run which includes the ports Genoa (Italy), Villefranche or Toulon (France), Barcelona (Spain), Palma de Mallorca (Spain), Cagliari (Sardines, Italy), and back to Civitavecchia (Italy). The Eastern Mediterranean run includes the following ports: Messina (Sicily, Italy), Kusadasi (Turkey, where we are today), Piraeus/Athens (Greece), Heraklion (Crete, Greece), and once again back to Civitavecchia. So you can see that we are going to really nice places and I really am enjoying everything I see.

Also, the team is changing once again because my coworker Sergio left a couple days ago as well as another girl from the team I was good friends with. I was really upset about saying goodbye to these nice people that I have spent so much time with over the last three months and that's definitely one thing I don't like about ship life. You meet great people and spend a lot of time with them in only a few months and then you have to part and you'll never know if you'll see each other again. Not very satisfying!

Besides that I'm still enjoying my work. I feel comfortable enough now to run all the activities with los of people as well as challenged to deal with all sorts of different nationalities and backgrounds. All in all this is really a great job and an awesome opportunity for me to combine all my interests and hobbies. I feel greatful and blessed to be able to travel the world, bringing my home to wherever I'm going, meeting new people, speaking different languages, and enjoying God's beautiful creation.

Sorry about not putting up any new pictures but the internet connection really sucks right now so I will have to do this some time later. Have a great week and hope to hear back from some of you :-)

Mt. Etna, Taormina, Ephesus

The last couple of weeks have been very nice. I really enjoyed the groups of kids we have had. Now the numbers are gradually going up since summer is coming and the kids are getting off school. The weather is getting better and better and obviously I really enjoy that :-). Nonetheless, I'm as pale as I was when I first got on the ship because I just don't have enough free time to just sit in the sun. As soon as I have the chance to get off the ship I usually go to find a free WiFi place where I can skype and update my blog and use the internet without looking at the time.

Today we are in Toulon, France. The weather is just beautiful and I'm taking the opportunity to sit at a McDonald's to upload some pictures from past trips.

I went to a vulcano called Mount Etna in Sicily. Here are some pictures of the beautiful scenery.

The volcano from afar

The crater from above. It is an active volcano and the sicilians are awaiting an arruption anytime.

My snack at Mt Etna: a canoli (italian specialty) and a red wine

Taormina, a little cute town close to Messina, Sicily

Ephesus (or what's left of it)

So you don't forget my face, here in Alexandria, Egypt
