Day Sixteen: Machu Picchu

Today I got on a train in Ollantaytambo to go to Machu Picchu.

The train was pretty cool since it had windows in the top. It was an 1,5 h trip and the scenery was stunning.

Once I reached the entrance of the National Park this was the view walking up.

There were quite a few stairs to go up.

Then I saw these beauties.

This was really just out of a travel magazine. Hardly any people around, perfect weather, and old history in front of me.

What a day! I never thought that I would one day go to Peru and see all of this. I'm extremely grateful.

You are really lucky to enjoy all of this with nearly nobody around. So great! I guess usually it is packed with people. Love, Sandra

I heard that usually they let about 2500 people daily to see Machu Picchu. No idea how many were there on the same day as me but nowhere close to the usual number.

Great. Must be a great view from above, not to mention the air.
