For now

I'm sitting on a train going north east. I think it's snowing outside. So nothing at all like the picture above. The situation in France and Spain made it difficult to try to cross over and do the first of the hardest phases of the camino francés - crossing the Pyrenees. I would have loved to see what is on the other side of the mountains but hostel owners in Spain and people from the French village of St. Jean Pied de Port confirmed it is not advisary to do the camino at the moment. Hostel owners in all of Spain are told to only accept tourists from their provinces and international pilgrims obviously don't count as those. I'm leaving wonderful sunny southern France and taking with me beautiful moments with God, other pilgrims, and hosts. I'm glad I was able to share a bit with you. But now Berlin awaits! And who knows when my next attempt at this pilgrimage will be...

Dear Anna,

I feel so sorry for you! Everything seemed to go so smoothly in France, even despite Corona. Hardly did we see any masks in your photos - as if the virus didn't exist.
You were really living the dream we in Berlin can't. I'm deeply saddened it came to an end so abruptly.
I wish you that you will be able to continue your journey in the future - with the same spirit of adventure, new interesting trail buddies and maybe a lighter load!
Thanks for taking us along.

Have a safe trip back!

Friedrich
